On November 30, 2019, WLiT and Frontenders Community Nepal organized a one day hackathon for tech students. The event saw participants of over 80 students. Hackathons are full-day events where students imagine, design, develop, and present a product from scratch. The goal is for teams to take an idea from inception to completion and present their accomplishments. We believe that meeting like minded people, challenging oneself and building innovative solutions are imperative to self development in tech. WLiT sees this as an opportunity to influence spaces where we can contribute to inclusive competitions while developing our outreach. Having more women as mentors during hackathons like these, we believe, will encourage more women to participate and will foster innovation.
